About

The Purpose of this website is to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis.

What is Cystic Fibrosis?

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that: clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food. The profits generated are donated through Great Strides, an organization who's sole purpose is finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. The money is sent in under my daughter's team, Team Sophie of Rochester, MN. Donations are also accepted by clicking on any of the donate buttons located at the top and bottom of each page which will lead you to our donation page on the Great Strides website. - more about Great Strides ->

Who is Sophie?

Sophie is my wonderful 8 year old daughter who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at 6 months of age. She’s a very strong little girl who loves the color purple and mermaids.

Sophie’s had many hospitalizations, hates needles, really hates throat cultures, and
needs lots of medicine. But the good news is because of all these things combined with
daily treatments she is a happy, healthy little girl who loves to make others laugh.
